Node4 - Who, what, why?

Written by TNP

In this post

With the combined might of Node4, risual, Tisski and TNP, we help our clients to do two things:

1. Get out of the IT infrastructure business
IT infrastructure is becoming more integrated/sophisticated/critical – not less. At the same time, the risks associated with security and ransomware have got greater. Internal IT teams now face many new challenges and need to get bigger and broader, just at a time when skills have become more scarce and harder to retain.

As a result, lots of mid-market businesses are choosing to get their companies out of the IT infrastructure business, on the basis that IT is not a core competence. Node4 works with these organisations to assume the day-to-day responsibility for existing internal systems, wraps them with the right security, and then makes a plan to deliver whatever new capabilities the business needs.

2. Improve productivity

Business applications have a key role to play in improving revenue per head. The extent to which they support business processes eliminates friction. The extent to which they automate business processes saves time. The extent to which they instrument business processes enables decision makers to allocate the right resources to the right opportunities. In combination, better performance is the result. Many legacy business systems don’t do any of these things. They were implemented years ago when processes were different – since when staff have used Excel to fill in gaps that have emerged. How many spreadsheets are mailed around your business? How much time is spent reconciling different versions of the truth? How many decisions are driven by instinct not data?

The pandemic exposed many of these problems. When more junior staff were on furlough, senior decision makers were exposed to the inadequacy of their internal systems for the first time. As a result, lots of mid-market business are choosing to replace their business systems. On the back of the success of Office 365, many of these businesses look first to see what Microsoft has to offer. Node4 works with these organisations to run quick, effective discovery sessions and then build comprehensive solutions built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft’s Power Platform.

In bringing infrastructure and application capabilities together under one roof, Node4 is:

  • Designed to offer customers choice. One SaaS size doesn’t fit all. Each organisation’s transition to the cloud needs to respect their own history and current priorities. We can help customers secure the benefits of cloud early and transition at their own pace.
  • Positioned to help customers express to consolidate their IT supply chain. In the past many mid-market organisations looked after their own on-premise infrastructure and worked with different resellers to support each of their siloed line of business applications. In transitioning to the cloud, businesses are looking for ‘one throat to choke’.
  • Seeking to help customers make the most of the ‘integrated innovation’ that Microsoft has been delivering over the last 5 years. Their solutions light up when hosted on Azure and integrate Office 365 and other components of the Dynamics 365 and Power product family.

The IT industry has been pushing DX or Digital Transformation for years, as if this is an objective in itself. It is not. Node4 will continue to help business leaders drive incremental improvement, by delivering practical solutions and great service. We help them take the next steps on their path to better, on their way to best in class.

How do Node4 do that?

As a Group, Node4 has a range of capabilities (as evidenced by Microsoft accreditations) and useful physical assets (own network and infrastructure) but THE most important asset is people. Their domain expertise and thoroughly practical outlook can help you get to better, quicker answers and action. They would welcome the opportunity to do so.
